Hebrews 6:13-15

Hello my faithful reader. :P

We had another appointment on Monday. It was really quick since we didn't have any questions. Haven't gained any weight yet, which you don't really need to in the first trimester anyway. They said my blood pressure was good. And so far a-ok I guess.
We get our one ultrasound/sonogram thing at the end of October. Sometime the week of the 24-28th. Will make the specific appt at the next checkup which is two weeks before that. I'm so excited :) Have no idea if it's a boy or girl, but still get asked what I think. Some people "just know", but I'm definitely not one of them lol.

Got that mower over the weekend! :) My poor hubby got a sunburn on his shoulders since he was out there for 2-2.5 hours. It's looking so much better though! :D And I took some of that time to pull the weeds growing in the pretty landscaping that the previous owners set up. So yay yard-work haha.

We have company tonight. Uncle Sam and Tasha happen to be up in the area and I think we're having dinner with them. Don't think we have any set plans yet. So we'll see how it goes.
Must clean the kitchen... I got lazy over the last couple days :/

I'm currently enjoying my "lunch" of a melon-berry smoothie.

ANYwho...

Hebrews.

6:13
"When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself..."

Pretty self explanatory. Pretty cool.

v14-15
"...saying, 'I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.' And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised."

He did receive it. Don't we all know that children's song "Father Abraham, had many sons..." The entire people of Israel came from him. Abraham had Isaac, and Isaac had Jacob - who was Israel, and he had 12 sons that are fathers to the 12 tribes of Israel. All pretty awesome.
And he was patient. He waited for God's promise. Not perfectly. If we recall the whole wife's maidservant - Haggar and Ishmael thing. I know Sarah (Sarai at the time) had the idea since she wasn't having kids, but really. Abraham slept with the lady... And there were consequences from that. Also, I just read over a little later in Genesis - he remarried after Sarah died and had a bunch more kids, but other than a gift for each of them left them with nothing. He left the inheritance to Isaac. A little off topic. Sorry. My point was that God blessed him and gave him what he had promised. In God's perfect timing. It might not line up with what we want or think. God waited until they knew it would be from him - they got old and didn't think they could have a baby, but God stepped in with his promise and blessed them with a child. And through their faith, although imperfect, Abraham is the father of multitudes. :)

God blesses our faith in him, and gives us what he promises!

And I think that is a good place to stop and ponder for the time being.

  1. A good place to ponder, indeed... I love hearing that story, for obvious reasons :) God never seems in a rush for anything though... but who am I to argue? LOL Love the Bible study today!

Glad everything is good with the appointment! How much is healthy to gain for the entire pregnancy, did they say? It seems so odd how your ultrasounds are so far off... I was told I'd be getting first ultrasound at 7-8 weeks, another around 16-18, and probably another around 28-30 weeks (but that's because I'm an "infertile," they say). I believe you can find out the sex around 16-17 weeks if you want to pay for your own ultrasound (like $100-200 for one of those awesome 3D ultrasounds!). You should look into it! They usually give you photos and videos of the ultrasound too, which would be such a fun keepsake! :D

    Love you friend *hug*

  2. I think that sometimes it would be nice for God to work on our timescale, but He knows best... And then sometimes... who am I kidding. Most of the time, I feel so impatient. :( But we need to be patient and trust him.

I'm looking forward to seeing God work in our lives more... on his time :D

I wish we had more ultrasounds. I know someone who's had like 3-4 and shes 3 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy. It's just the Kalamazoo area I guess. They only do extra if there are complications. We get one ultrasound (not even covered in their fees) at 20 weeks to check baby's development - make sure s/he is growing at the proper rate taking measurements and such. And we just happen to get to see if its a boy or girl then. Their 3D one is $150 here. And... I think it would be super cool, but I don't know if we can justify it with things like a crib, car seat, etc. needing to be purchased. They do the 3D between 25-32 weeks here (they say they don't like letting people do it too early because babies look more like aliens and they don't want to startle the parents or something silly like that), and include CD images, a couple printed, and a 2D if you haven't had one recently. I'll talk to James some more about it though. We'll see.

I love you too my friend! I'm glad you invited me on this blog journey. It has been good for me!
