It's been while I know. We finally got internet transferred to the house yesterday. I feel like it's been forever.
Since my last update, we bought a house! Signed for it last Friday, which went smoothly.
My computer died (still haven't hooked it up again to see if it was a fluke... I'm afraid). So I'm borrowing my hubby's old laptop. Good times. I'm so not used to laptop keyboards any longer. So please forgive any unintended typos in advance (I'll try to catch them as I go along).
We moved into the new house! Recruited Hubby's friend and his girlfriend since the guys that had volunteered backed out last minute - and here we had chosen not to do movers since we had volunteers. We weren't very happy. So thankful to Greg & Elanor for pitching in last minute though!! And of course Mike & Kim came and helped as planned as well. :) Glad for some good friends here. We just did the boxes and they all got moved over and then we enjoyed a lovely pizza dinner around our new firepit and s'mores afterwards... because how can you have a fire without s'mores?!
There were quite a few stragglers at the apartment I had to finish packing up and we used the Uhaul the next day and the car after that (bikes and dining room chairs and straggling computer things like monitors).
Tuesday the movers brought all of our furniture - I didn't really think we had that much, but apparently we did! I'm SOOOO thankful we paid to have them move it. Totally worth it!!
Yesterday I cleaned the apartment like a mad-woman. I left the place smelling like bleach. :/ I even deep cleaned the carpets (didn't do a perfect job, but greatly improved it - still evidence of high traffic areas though, but it wasn't brand new when we moved in, so I don't feel that bad about it). I was there from noon to 930pm. I had a "lunch break" to go pick up the deep cleaner and get some food since I was getting shaky, but then back to work with only small text breaks in there :P Honestly I'm surprised I am not more sore today! I left that apartment last night never to see it again (hooray!!!).
I was so busy that I didn't even notice the date - Hubby & I hit 3 1/2 years married!!! It's been so great! I'm so thankful that I married that man! God has truly blessed us!
I can't believe we have a house!! Honestly it feels like we're staying in some fancy hotel suite or vacation home or something. It's so awesome! I feel so spoiled and it's all still so surreal. I'm waiting to wake up or the people to 'come home' and say "get out, we want it back"... although they can't with all that paperwork we signed lol. But that's just what it feels like. It's amazing. The dogs have more space to run around. My kitchen is marvelously huge. We have a nice cool basement to retreat to if it gets too hot (and that's where we have our computer desks).
I should stop rambling and spend some time in God's word now, eh?
Where did we leave off? Hebrews something? :P
Hebrews 5:4-6
"No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron
was. So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high
priest. But God said to him, 'You are my Son; today I have become your
Father.' And he says in another place, You are a priest forever, in
the order of Melchizedek.'"
Someone can't just say "I want to be high priest" and go for it. It was something they had to be chosen for. Not just anyone could represent the people in front of GOD. It had to be someone that God chose to represent the people. The most qualified in God's eyes.
Jesus didn't just say "I am a high priest", but rather God called him to it. Jesus, as a man, lived under God's authority as his Father.
I wonder how the order of Melchizedek is important. Will have to look that up.
I got distracted taking care of dogs, and must go clean that deep cleaner before I return it. So for now, this post will have to be completed.
